You Bought an Iron-on Chenille Patch...now what? How-to instructions!

HOW TO APPLY YOUR AWESOME IRON-ON CHENILLE PATCH:

  1. Either be or find a trusted adult to this.
  1. Make sure you’re ironing something that can be ironed! Don’t skip this step, trust me.
  1. Prep the surface, place your garment on a flat surface and smooth it out so there are no wrinkles or creases.
  1. Think about where you want your patch BEFORE you throw it down on there and start ironing. Again, don’t skip this step. Once it’s on, it’s on.
  1. Set your iron to the HIGHEST temperature. This should go without saying, but please be careful. We are not liable for user error.
  1. Are you sure you know where you want it?
  1. Place the patch adhesive side down on the item you are ironing it onto.
  1. Make sure to find a piece of (plain) cotton over the top of the patch to act as a barrier to the yarn in the chenille patch. Otherwise, it will burn. Again-Don’t skip this step. A plain t-shirt, a plain tea towel or a plain pillowcase should work. COTTON only, okie dokie? Now place the cotton barrier piece over the top of the patch…carefully.
  1. Hold the iron on the patch for about 5-7 seconds, take it off for about 3 seconds and repeat this step a couple of times until the patch seems to be adhering to the garment.

  2. If you can, flip your garment inside out and iron the garment from the inside. You can use the cotton piece on this side as well, but it’s not always necessary. With your garment inside out-press the hot iron over the patch (glue side through the garment) for a few seconds to create an even better “stick.”
  1. Marvel at your custom piece and how amazing you are!
